Health Payer Account Executive
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Health Payer Account Executive based in the United States. This is a high-impact enterprise sales role focused on expanding access to innovative pediatric healthcare through health plan partnerships. You will own the full sales cycle across Medicaid and commercial payers, from prospecting and relationship development through negotiation and close. The role carries a significant new-business quota and requires a proven ability to win complex, high-value healthcare deals. You will engage senior executives across clinical, financial, operational, procurement, and population health functions. Working closely with leadership and cross-functional experts, you will translate clinical outcomes and utilization improvements into compelling financial value propositions.
About the Role
- Own a $3.5M annual ARR bookings quota, with a focus on securing new Medicaid and commercial health plan business.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline through existing relationships, direct prospecting, referrals, industry events, strategic account development, and marketing opportunities.
- Develop relationships with senior payer decision-makers, including CEOs, CMOs, CFOs, Medicaid leaders, population health executives, care management, network, finance, and procurement stakeholders.
- Create account strategies that penetrate complex payer organizations and establish multiple paths toward a commercial agreement.
- Manage the complete sales cycle, including initial outreach, business case development, executive alignment, procurement, contracting, negotiation, and closing.
- Led value-based and risk-aligned commercial discussions in collaboration with leadership, analytics, finance, and legal teams.
- Translate clinical outcomes, member experience improvements, utilization impact, and cost savings into persuasive financial and strategic value propositions.
- Develop customized presentations, proposals, and business cases tailored to individual health plans and executive audiences.
- Maintain disciplined pipeline management, opportunity tracking, and forecasting through HubSpot.
- Represent the organization at relevant payer and healthcare industry events while bringing market intelligence back to inform positioning, pricing, offerings, and go-to-market strategy.
- Take full ownership of sales execution, proactively opening doors and advancing opportunities in a fast-moving, early-stage environment.
Requirements
- 7+ years of enterprise healthcare sales experience, including significant experience selling directly to health plans.
- Demonstrated success exceeding quota and closing large, complex, net-new payer opportunities.
- Established relationships with senior Medicaid and/or commercial health plan executives, with a proven ability to convert relationships into qualified opportunities and revenue.
- Deep understanding of how health plans evaluate, budget for, procure, contract, and implement healthcare solutions.
- Experience navigating complex payer organizations and building consensus across clinical, financial, operational, procurement, and executive stakeholders.
- Experience selling value-based, risk-aligned, or outcomes-based healthcare solutions is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to develop and communicate business cases grounded in clinical outcomes, utilization, healthcare costs, ROI, and financial impact.
- Strong account strategy, follow-up, CRM management, forecasting, and organizational skills.
- Resourceful, persistent, hands-on, and comfortable operating with ambiguity and limited structure.
- Excellent executive communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience with Medicaid, digital health, pediatric healthcare, or solutions designed to reduce avoidable healthcare utilization is highly valued.
