Essential Responsibilities

  • Captures and coordinates clerical and clinical functions.
  • Prepares exam rooms and obtains health and physical information from patients prior to exams, procedures, testing, and administering injections under the supervision of healthcare providers.
  • Schedules patients for procedures, diagnostic tests, and office visits. Provides patients with instructions and acts as a liaison between the physician and patients.
  • Screens and directs incoming phone calls. Responds appropriately to internal and external customer inquiries.
  • Supports front office operations including registration, chart preparation, insurance verifications, precertification, and billing tasks.
  • Orders and tracks inventory of operational and clinical supplies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum accepted medical assistant certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA).
  • At least 2 years of clerical support, insurance verification, and registration experience in a medical office setting or equivalent education.
  • CPR – American Heart Association certification.
  • Completed Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 criminal background clearance certificates.
  • Completed FBI fingerprinting criminal background clearance certificate.
  • Prior associate's degree in medical assistant program preferred.

Preferred

  • Associate's degree.
