Health Information Management Director
About the role
Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Health Information Management Director to join its dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant work experience, or a combination thereof. The position requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and a strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with organizational requirements.
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management.
- Hires, trains, evaluates, and develops staff members.
- Monitors and manages departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with allocated funding.
- Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
- Fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and focuses on the department’s role in the continuum of care.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
- Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.
- Certifications: RHIT or RHIA.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
- Skilled in the application of policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.

What We're Looking For
