Responsibilities

  • Manages transcription and digital voice recognition services, including preparing, scanning, reviewing, and AFI'ing hybrid medical records for analysis of documentation accuracy and completeness.
  • Assists in coordinating coverage for HIM functions and processes.
  • Serves as the MModal VR (Voice Recognition) HIM Representative.
  • Oversees transcription-related account corrections within the MModal Fluency system at all HighPoint facilities daily, including the Hold Q and Rejection Lists.
  • Utilizes the MModal Fluency system as needed.
  • Resolves practitioner report issues in a timely manner.
  • Assists with contacting physicians regarding delinquent reports.
  • Analyzes medical records for chart completion deficiencies in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical staff rules and regulations.
  • Ensures deficiencies are assigned to the appropriate medical staff member and that data is entered for tracking and monitoring purposes.
  • Reviews documentation and updates or clears deficiencies as appropriate.
  • Answers telephone calls and assists visitors, including but not limited to physicians, patients, and family members, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent - Required.
  • Additional coursework in Medical Transcription, Medical Terminology, and Anatomy & Physiology - Preferred.

Qualifications

  • RHIT, RHIA, and/or CMT accreditation - Preferred.

Skills

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
