**PURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITION** The primary purpose of your job position is to maintain all medical records in accordance with federal, and state guidelines as well as in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and as may be directed by your immediate supervisor; to assure that a complete medical records program is maintained. Every effort has been made to make this as complete as possible. However, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical job assignment to the position. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** Must be a High School Graduate or equivalent. Must be able to speak and comprehend the English Language. Must be able to cope with the emotional stress of the position. Must be able to see, hear or use prosthetic devices that will enable this sense to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients, family, co-workers, and provider. Must have comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and its application or be willing to complete either on-site or off-site instruction. Preferable to type 45 words/minute. General knowledge of office equipment. Must display the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times.
