Health Information Coordinator
About the role
This is the leadership level where employees are assigned responsibilities involving the supervision of technical or clerical personnel in a medical records unit. Duties at this level include having knowledge of methods and techniques of medical records management; of applicable federal and state laws and agency and facility policies and procedures; of current classification systems; of report writing techniques; and of medical terminology.

Requirements
- Accreditation with the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and two years of experience in the medical records field
- Eligibility for registration with the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
- Five years of experience working with patient records in a medical setting such as a hospital, state institution, medical clinic or a physician’s office
Qualifications
Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.

Pay
The annual salary is $41,500.00 plus benefit allowance.

Scheduled days: Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

About us
Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center in Lawton, OK is a community-based center with a primary focus on mental health and substance abuse treatment. The inpatient and outpatient services they provide include special groups and programs for adolescents, persons with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, seniors and older adults, women, men, and criminal justice groups.
