About the Role
This position involves staffing a fitness center in a corporate, commercial, or community setting. Responsibilities include performing fitness assessments, equipment orientations, exercise prescriptions, and maintaining fitness center equipment. You will also assist with managing the group fitness schedule, staff Health Fairs, conduct health screenings (e.g., blood pressure, body composition), implement and report on wellness programs, provide health coaching, create incentive programs, and present on health and wellness topics.
Responsibilities
- Supervise members during workouts, ensuring safety by correcting form and proper equipment use.
- Assist members with program and goal attainment.
- Enforce fitness floor policies, such as proper equipment use and cleanliness.
- Administer physical tests to members post-consultation and review physician recommendations.
- Design and walk members through personalized exercise programs to help them achieve their goals.
- Answer questions about exercise progression and provide guidance.
- Complete special projects assigned by the Fitness Coordinator.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health/Fitness or a related field.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience.
