Health and Fitness Specialist
About the role
The Leidos Intel Sector has an opening for an experienced and fully cleared Health and Fitness Specialist to support a Federal Intelligence Community customer’s occupational health and wellness program. The Health and Fitness Specialist will work at Federal sites throughout Northern Virginia as part of a team working to create, implement, and lead a variety of health, wellness, and fitness programs to the Federal client’s workforce.
Work locations are located inside the beltway and in the Dulles corridor. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team focused on promoting physical health and wellbeing to the Federal workforce. The ability to travel locally throughout the northern Virginia region is required, POV mileage is reimbursable. Additional travel within the Continental United States may be required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with government management to plan, oversee, and execute a comprehensive Health and Fitness program consistent with established standards and focused on individual exercise programming, fitness assessments, wellness events, workshops, seminars, group exercise, and nutrition counseling.
- Develop, lead, assist and deliver health and wellbeing briefings, workshops, events, and seminars.
- Provide health and wellbeing consultations and services to individuals, including fitness goal setting and customized fitness programs.
- Provide individuals and group fitness participants with enhanced knowledge of exercise, body alignment and exercise safety.
- Support the planning, management, and evaluation of fitness programs and equipment.
- Attend meetings and provide written, weekly activity reports.
- Serve as substitute if primary instructor is unable to teach a group exercise class.
Required
- Active Top Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
- Active personal training certification from at least one of the following: American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council on Exercise (ACE), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
- Active CPR and AED certification.
- 5 years of work experience as a health fitness specialist or exercise physiologist setting fitness goals, and planning/managing customized fitness programs.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field.
- National Strength and Conditioning Association – Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCD).
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must be available to work within 5:30am – 5:30pm.
Skills
The ideal candidate should have the ability to travel locally throughout the northern Virginia region and potentially within the Continental United States.
Benefits
Pay Range $65,650.00 - $118,675.00
