About the Role
Under general guidance and direction of the assigned supervisor, assists, develops, designs, monitors, coordinates, evaluates, and administers health education and prevention activities in Utah County. Performs complex clerical, technical, and other required work at the full performance level.
Qualifications
Health Educator II
- Bachelor's degree in Health, Community Health, Health Promotion, Public Health, or a closely related field
- Four (4) years of work experience in public health, or a related field
- A completed, related master's degree may be substituted for two (2) years of health education work experience
Health Educator I
- Bachelor's degree in Health, Community Health, Health Promotion, Public Health, or a closely related field
- Two (2) years of work experience in public health or a related field
- A completed, related master's degree may be substituted for two (2) years of health education work experience
Health Education Technician
- Bachelor's degree in Community Health, Health Promotion, Public Health, or a related field
Certifications
- Incumbents must obtain and thereafter maintain certification through the National Certifying Boards in one of the following during the first twelve (12) months in position: Certified in Public Health (CPH) or Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)
- Incumbent may be required to complete the SPF Application for Prevention Success Training (SAPST) within the probationary period for new hires or the trial period for promoted County employees when applicable
Pay
- Health Educator II (Grade 723): $29.24 - $33.60 per hour
- Health Educator I (Grade 721): $25.45 - $29.24 per hour
- Health Education Technician (Grade 720): $23.74 - $27.27 per hour
Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
