Responsibilities

• Clinical Evaluation: Conduct examinations, diagnose tuberculosis, order tests, prescribe medications, and document care plans
• Medical Oversight: Manage medication orders, authorize imaging and laboratory work, and direct isolation-related decisions
• Treatment Management: Review test results, adjust care based on guidelines, and monitor patients for drug effects
• Consultation Services: Provide clinical opinions and guidance for tuberculosis cases in person or through electronic communication
• Cohort Review: Evaluate records and treatment histories to ensure appropriate management of tuberculosis cases
• Collaboration Duties: Work with state and local health staff to support interviews and evaluations of individuals with tuberculosis

Schedule

Per diem employment — scheduled on an as-needed basis. Days and times vary depending on need. This position does not require weekend hours. Telework is not available for this position.

Requirements

• Valid professional physician license
• Ability to perform essential job functions
• Must pass a background investigation, including:
  • PA State Police clearance
  • PA Child Abuse history clearance
  • FBI Fingerprint clearance
• Position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law; a conditional offer requires submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports
