About the Role

The Health Center Manager oversees daily and strategic operations, ensuring the seamless coordination and integration of clinical and administrative functions while maintaining high standards of patient care, efficiency, and compliance. In partnership with the Lead Provider, this role drives operational success, financial stability, and service excellence. Leading a diverse healthcare team, the manager fosters a culture of innovation, excellence, and compassionate care to meet community needs and exceed performance expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure team members understand their roles and deliver high quality, coordinated care.
  • Maintain OSHA, IDPH, and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards while ensuring staff competency in patient safety.
  • Identify and address clinical risks, ensuring patient safety and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee patient care, satisfaction, and outcomes, making regular rounds to enhance service.
  • Track key metrics and performance indicators to improve health center operations and accountability.
  • Lead staff meetings and daily huddles, ensuring smooth coordination and care delivery.
  • Utilize EMR analytics to improve workflows and align operations with patient-centered care values.
  • Develop business plans, financial strategies, and process improvements to ensure long-term success.
  • Investigate staff concerns and patient compliance issues, promoting fair and effective resolutions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support health equity initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field, plus 2-3 years of supervisory/team lead experience in a healthcare setting, or 5+ years of supervisory/team lead experience in healthcare.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Requires local travel between clinical/health centers, hospitals, and community sites.
  • A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required when using a personal vehicle.

Depending on the position, candidates may be required to be vaccinated against communicable diseases and provide supporting documentation proving that they are properly vaccinated, or apply for religious and/or medical vaccination exemption as part of the application process.

Pay

The pay ranges provided represent the minimum to mid-range for positions. Actual compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including years of experience, educational background, market conditions, and available grant funding.
