Core Responsibilities
- Supports and models the Catholic Mission and the Native American Culture that are the foundations of St. Joseph’s Indian School.
- Reclaims the environment for all students through the Circle of Courage.
- Maintains privacy, confidentiality and security of patient information at all times.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance in designated areas.
- Servicing, cleaning, sanitizing, stocking, and requisitioning cleaning supplies, equipment, and reporting necessary repairs.
- Seasonally, performs heavy cleaning – i.e. carpet shampooing, washing walls, de-bugging light fixtures.
- Performs duties specific to particular location where assigned.
- Reports any serious damage, vandalism and potentially dangerous conditions to the Lead Custodian, Director of Health and Wellness, or the Director of Counseling Services.
- Requests repair work, notifying the Lead Custodian for major repairs.
- Collaborates with organization-wide facilities to ensure best practices.
- Complies with all safety and health requirements, whether established by management, federal, state or local laws.
- Enhances professional knowledge by attending job-related workshops as directed by the Lead Custodian.
- Respects the privacy of material present in individual rooms and refrains from handling or reading such materials to avoid accidental violations of confidentiality.
- Completes annual HIPAA training and other required organization trainings.
- Responsible for upholding and abiding by Health Center specific and organizational policies, procedures, and standing orders.
- Reports, immediately any type of abuse or neglect, suspected or alleged, to the proper authorities.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
Physical Demands
- Must be able to exert up to 60 lbs. of force occasionally
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects of up to 30 lbs. frequently
- Regularly bends, stoops, crouches, and climbs stairs
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Must have the capability to apply oneself physically over long periods of time
- Uses the abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly over time without becoming fatigued
