About the role

The Health Care Technician I position is primarily responsible for providing direct care and person centered supports to residents with complex physical, intellectual, medical, and behavioral needs. This position focuses on enhancing the quality-of-life of residents in a caring home environment with dignity and respect, offering choices and options to support individuality.

Responsibilities

  • Completing nursing assistant assignments while maintaining optimal gross/fine motor skills.
  • Ensuring activities of daily living (mealtime, dressing, bathing, grooming, etc.) while supporting the highest level of independence.
  • Ensuring all health and safety needs are met for assigned residents per regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA in all aspects of communication.

Requirements

To be considered for employment, the applicant must be in good standing with the NC Health Care Personnel Registry. Successful completion of training through the Staff Development department is also required, which includes but is not limited to NCI (North Carolina Intervention), CPR, Body Mechanics, and lifting.

Qualifications

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Knowledgeable and skilled in nursing care techniques.
  • Able to communicate observations and recommendations effectively and accurately in written and verbal form.
  • Able to communicate in a respectful manner to residents, family/guardians, co-workers, and others.
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team while maintaining a professional, pleasant demeanor in work relationships.
  • Able to learn behavior management interventions and support counseling relationships.
  • Experience providing direct care and person centered supports to residents with complex physical, intellectual, medical, and behavioral needs.

Skills

This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events. We are recruiting for multiple positions with this posting, and your application will be considered for all noted open positions.

Benefits

Available 8-hour shifts: B-Shift (7:00am-3:30pm), C-Shift (3:00pm-11:30pm), A-Shift (11:00pm-7:30am); Available 12-hour shifts: Day (7:00am-7:30pm), Evening/Night (7:00pm-7:30am).

Pay

Salary Grade: $31,200 - $46,348
Recruitment Range: $35,360.00 - $38,688.00

Schedule

Available 8-hour shifts: B-Shift (7:00am-3:30pm), C-Shift (3:00pm-11:30pm), A-Shift (11:00pm-7:30am); Available 12-hour shifts: Day (7:00am-7:30pm), Evening/Night (7:00pm-7:30am).

Benefits

Sign-on bonus of $2,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.
