Health Care Technician I - Cluster 1 - O'Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment Center

About the role

The Health Care Technician I position is primarily responsible for providing direct care and person centered supports to residents with complex physical, intellectual, medical, and behavioral needs. This position focuses on enhancing the quality-of-life of residents in a caring home environment with dignity and respect, offering choices and options to support individuality.

Responsibilities

• Completing nursing assistant assignments while maintaining optimal gross/fine motor skills.
• Ensuring activities of daily living (mealtime, dressing, bathing, grooming, etc.) while supporting the highest level of independence.
• Ensuring all health and safety needs are met for assigned residents per regulatory guidelines.
• Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA in all aspects of communication.

Requirements

To be considered for employment, the applicant must be in good standing with the NC Health Care Personnel Registry. Successful completion of training through our Staff Development department, including but not limited to NCI (North Carolina Intervention), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting, is also required.

• Knowledgeable and skilled in nursing care techniques.
• Ability to communicate observations and recommendations effectively and accurately in written and verbal form.
• Ability to communicate in a respectful manner to residents, family/guardians, co-workers, and others.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team while maintaining a professional, pleasant demeanor in work relationships.
• Ability to learn behavior management interventions and support counseling relationships.
• Experience providing direct care and person centered supports to residents with complex physical, intellectual, medical, and behavioral needs.

Pay

The salary grade ranges from $31,200 to $46,348, with a recruitment range of $35,360.00 - $38,688.00. A sign-on bonus of $2,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.

Schedule

Available shifts include 8-hour shifts (B-Shift, C-Shift, A-Shift) and 12-hour shifts (Day, Evening/Night).
