Health Care Specialist
Help ensure our Head Start children and families are getting the health services they need in and out of the classroom. This position is ideal for an RN looking to enter nonprofit work or a recent graduate.
About the role
As a Health Care Specialist, you are responsible for maintaining collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals and community partners while ensuring the delivery of comprehensive health services and health education for Head Start/Early Head Start children and families. This position oversees program health services, ensures compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and all applicable federal and state regulations, and supports the overall health and well-being of enrolled children.
You will also help evaluate and implement health care plans, medication requests, and special meal requests for children with identified health needs, and ensure that all critical care needs are accommodated. You'll help develop and deliver training to ensure that staff are properly trained to meet the health needs of the children, are CPR/First Aid certified, and are knowledgeable about health systems and procedures.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- 2-year Registered Nurse license
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- 2 years of child-related experience
- CPR/First Aid Instructor certification
- Previous Head Start experience

Pay
Starting yearly salary of $64,022.40
