Responsibilities

  • Ensures that community follows all federal, state, local laws and regulations as they pertain to clinical care.
  • Identifies ongoing needs and services of residents through the assessment/Service Plan process, including documentation for residents with a change in health care status.
  • Partners with other department coordinators to identify, review, and discuss potential changes in service/medication levels and updates the resident’s service plan as indicated by state regulations.
  • Maintains communications with resident’s family and/or responsible party regarding changes in care or health concerns.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Manages the day-to-day healthcare operations of the community to ensure residents' healthcare needs are met.
  • Assists in the supervision of medication technicians and caregivers, and provides ongoing training and education to care staff.
  • Shares on-call duties on a 6-week rotation.

Requirements

  • Maintains current state license as a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN) or Professional Registered Nurse (RN) per state regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance of a second employee and/or mechanical devices.
  • Must be able to push up to 350 lb. (wheelchair).
