Health Assurance Veterinarian (Mid-West US)

Role Overview

PIC North America, a Genus Company, is seeking a Health Assurance Veterinarian for the Mid-West Region in the US. The role involves implementing and communicating the PIC Health Assurance Program, overseeing health monitoring, biosecurity, and health risk management, and improving herd health through disease elimination programs.

Requirements

• Basic Qualifications:
  • Degree of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited veterinary college.
  • Ability to be licensed and accredited in relevant states.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in swine medicine and production, including demonstrated competence in evaluating pig production systems and developing intervention strategies to improve herd health.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience influencing all levels of production systems (owners, senior managers, production managers, technicians, nutritionists, veterinarians).
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing technical information, including technical writing and presentation skills, to effectively communicate in an organized and concise manner.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications, including information technology tools for analysis and communication of health and production related data.
  • Must not co-habitat or live on the same premises with any person who works with swine and/or with people that are in routine contact with swine.

Qualifications

• Preferred Location: Midwest region of the US.
• Travel: Approximately 35%, domestic and occasionally international.
• Salary Range: Starts at $135,000 USD. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
