What you'll do

As an HQHVSN Veterinarian, you’ll focus exclusively on high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgery in a fast-paced nonprofit clinic. This role is centered on surgical efficiency, patient safety, and delivering consistent, high-quality care in a mission-driven environment dedicated to increasing access to affordable veterinary services. You’ll work closely with a skilled technical and support team in a collaborative setting designed to support high surgical volume while maintaining strong clinical standards.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a four-day workweek with one of the following schedules: Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday. Specific schedule assignments will be determined based on clinic needs and candidate availability.

What you'll get

• We welcome applications from both new graduate and experienced veterinarians, with compensation determined by experience, clinical competency, and availability. Starting pay will depend on experience, training, education, surgical proficiency, and organizational needs. Experienced HQHVSN Veterinarian: Target hiring range is $160,000–$165,000 annually. Additional compensation may be considered based on clinical scope, including wellness shifts, experience level, and demonstrated surgical capacity.
• New Graduate HQHVSN Veterinarian: Target hiring range is $150,000–$152,000 annually. Veterinarians who successfully complete a first-year operational and clinical assessment may be eligible for a merit increase, with an anticipated salary range of $155,000–$158,000 annually.
• Additional Compensation: Includes a $10,000–$15,000 sign-on bonus, based on experience and availability, structured as follows: 50% paid upon hire, 50% paid after one year of employment, contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued employment in good standing. Relocation assistance: Eligible candidates may receive a relocation bonus of $5,000–$10,000, based on individual circumstances. Performance Bonus: Eligible for an additional $5,000 discretionary bonus upon completion of 12 months of employment, based on individual performance, achievement of clinical goals, and organizational needs.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited institution
• Licensed and in good standing in New York State, or eligible to obtain licensure prior to start date
• Active DEA license, or ability to obtain prior to start date (clinic will cover initial registration and renewal fees, where applicable)
• Proficiency in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN) surgery, or strong interest in developing surgical skills in this setting
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume surgical and anesthesia environment while maintaining patient safety and quality standards
• Strong clinical judgment with ability to assess surgical and anesthetic risk and make sound decisions independently and collaboratively
• Commitment to low-stress handling and compassionate patient care, particularly in a high-throughput setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
• Adaptability, professionalism, and resilience in a fast-paced, mission-driven surgical environment
