Nature of Work

Under the supervision of the School Health Nurse, manage the activities of the school health room. Duties include first aid and administration of medication as delegated by the school nurse. Responsibilities may include a variety of health tasks and clerical work in assisting students with health-related needs. Involves lifting, positioning, transferring and aiding in bodily functions as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)
• Current Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) Nursing Assistant Certificate or Geriatric Nursing Certification
• Completion of the MBON-approved Certified Medication Technician training programs provided by the Anne Arundel County Department of Health
• Driver’s License Required

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have good communication skills
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
