Assure that state and diocesan reporting requirements are adhered to.
Limited supervision to use independent judgment when performing duties.
Essential Job Functions
- Screens ill or injured students according to established procedures; administers routine first aid, determines if a student remains at school, or parent contact is made to pick up the ill or injured child, with further instructions given.
- Records all information on the health status of students on individual health records and/or clinic visits; screens student records for proper immunizations (verified through state program); alerts parents of needed immunizations and maintains communication until records of immunizations are provided; provides copies of updated information to selected personnel.
- Maintains all student/staff medical records with confidentiality and discretion.
- Maintains the health office in a clean and orderly manner.
- Follows sanitizing protocols to isolate and remove any bodily fluids on campus.
- Provides excuses for physical education to students when they are assigned, per school policy.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
- Completes Ministry Formation Certification and/or re-certification as required by Diocesan policy.
- Completes required Safe Environment Training and Code of Ethics.
- Demonstrates personal self-discipline, is adaptable and flexible in routine and unexpected situations.
- Uses good judgment in daily encounters.
- Uses verbal and written language correctly.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of proper sanitary and hygienic protocols.
- Maintains appropriate grooming and dress at all times as stated in the faculty Handbook.
- Demonstrates knowledge of applicable computer software.
Minimum Qualification
- Preference given to Catholic Health Assistant.
- If Catholic, willing to make a public Profession of Faith.
- If a Non-Catholic is willing to sign a Profession of Faith.
- Current Fingerprint clearance card.
- Up-to-date First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications.
