Health Assistant
About the role
Tulsa Public Schools is seeking a Health Assistant to support the health needs of students and the school community. The position works under the supervision of the Site Administrator and Manager of School Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Supports medication administration, first aid, immunization compliance, and workers compensation documentation.
- Assists on-site, as needed, by the assigned registered nurse.
- Uses computers for tasks such as email, submitting attachments, reports, online supply orders, immunization records, etc.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Certification in one of the following: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Certified Medication Aid (CMA), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Health-related associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- One year experience in K-12 settings serving low-income students and families.
- One year experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Possess or willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.

- Attention to detail.

Pay
The salary grade for this position is H-5 for non-certified Health Assistants and H-6 for certified Health Assistants. For more information on the salary schedule, please refer to the Salary Schedule for the corresponding Salary Grade (listed above).
