Health and Safety Supervisor
About the role
HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is looking for a Health and Safety Supervisor to work at a client facility. The Health and Safety Supervisor inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state and federal safety policies and regulations; oversees ongoing work sites to ensure personnel comply with company and client safety requirements along with promoting a positive safety culture; and responds to emergencies and site remediation while working in all types of weather conditions.

Responsibilities
- Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
- Conduct health and safety inspections, audits and interventions; investigate, oversee, and observe safety conditions; and manage safety permits and required paperwork
- Manage employee safety training programs and coordination
- Conduct JLA’s (job loss analysis), JHA’s (job hazard analysis) and manage safety equipment inspection, testing and supply
- Provide leadership and guidance on Clean Harbors specific processes and expectations
- Respond to emergencies and incidents and manage injury and accident follow-up and reporting
- Coach, manage and supervise teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance
- Establish relationships with client safety department
- Demonstrate proficiency at a wide variety of assignments and direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments
- Inspect assigned work areas and equipment to identify compliance issues
- Document safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures/practices; recommend corrective actions
Qualifications
- 2+ years of progressively responsible and related experience in an industrial setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the following is preferred: First Aid, Confined Space and Fall Protection, and DISA standards
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must have a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Must have Construction Site Safety Tech certification (CSST)
- Strong knowledge of regulations
