About the role

HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Port Lavaca, TX, is looking for a Health and Safety Supervisor to work at a client facility. The role involves inspecting work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations; overseeing ongoing work sites to ensure personnel comply with company and client safety requirements while promoting a positive safety culture; and responding to emergencies and site remediation in all types of weather conditions. This is a great opportunity for transitioning military personnel to leverage their skills and training in civilian life.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Conduct health and safety inspections, audits, and interventions; investigate, oversee, and observe safety conditions; and manage safety permits and required paperwork;
  • Manage employee safety training programs and coordination;
  • Conduct JLA’s (Job Loss Analysis), JHA’s (Job Hazard Analysis), and manage safety equipment inspection, testing, and supply;
  • Provide leadership and guidance on Clean Harbors-specific processes and expectations;
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents and manage injury and accident follow-up and reporting;
  • Coach, manage, and supervise teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance;
  • Establish relationships with client safety departments;
  • Demonstrate proficiency at a wide variety of assignments and direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments;
  • Inspect assigned work areas and equipment to identify compliance issues;
  • Document safety inspections, citing dangerous areas, procedures, and practices; recommend corrective actions;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of progressively responsible and related experience in an industrial setting;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Knowledge of First Aid, Confined Space and Fall Protection, and DISA standards is preferred;
  • Valid Driver’s License;
  • Must have a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC);
  • Must have Construction Site Safety Tech certification (CSST);
  • Strong knowledge of regulations.
