Health and Safety Program Advisor-IL

About the role

Works closely with industrial facilities across the Chicago area to provide technical and regulatory support with health & safety (OSHA) and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Completes facility inspections and site assessments
  • Develops site-specific safety programs
  • Conducts employee safety and environmental training
  • Led safety committee meetings
  • Performs compliance audits, periodic training, and routine facility inspections to identify areas of concern
  • Prepares agendas and follow-up reports to client contacts before and after each visit
  • Develops, writes, and edits OSHA-compliant programs, providing up-to-date versions to clients utilizing our EHS Gateway platform
  • Facilitates safety committee and emergency response team (ERT) meetings
  • Conducts industrial hygiene surveys and respective testing (air/noise)
  • Manages daily activities and tasks through the company’s internal software (MS Dynamics/PSA)
  • Researches additional regulations and applies them to industrial equipment and operations
  • Performs applicability assessments and data collection alongside our Environmental Division
  • Completes special projects as assigned, including lockout (LO/TO) procedure development, Job Hazard Assessment development (JHAs), and DOT/RCRA seminars

Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 3-5+ years of experience in occupational safety in a manufacturing environment. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an aptitude for sound decision-making, and the ability to assert good judgment. Working knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 and other OSHA/safety regulations, including state or regional-specific requirements. Bilingual Spanish skills are highly valued. Open to travel - 6-8 overnight stays per month (daily food and beverage per diem and reimbursed for business mileage). Reliable transportation.

Pay

$90,000 - $110,000 salary plus bonus.

Schedule

Work from home and travel to local clients.
