Header Combination A Welder

The Role

Weld metal parts together using mig, and/or stick welding or any combination using both arc welding processes to fabricate or repair headers or header subassemblies.

Responsibilities

• Ability to understand and interpret drawings, weld symbols and weld procedures
• Ability to operate pneumatic or electric grinders
• Removes metal with carbon arc gouging equipment and/or plasma gouging equipment
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fills holes
• Maintains production record of parts and jobs fabricated as required by the Department Manager
• Position pieces with overhead or jib cranes
• Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on-site, ability to work overtime
• Able to work cooperatively with others, able to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management
• Able to perform multiple tasks concurrently, able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to interchange with others in the department

Competency/Position Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Ability to add and subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to use and interpret tape measures

Education and Experience (Required Levels)

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must pass American Society of Mechanical Engineering welding test. Testing process and positions are subject to change and are given as required
