Head Women's Lacrosse Coach
Elmira College is a private liberal arts college located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. The College was the first to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies.
About the role
The Head Coach is responsible for all phases of a successful NCAA Division III women’s lacrosse program in accordance with all department, college, and NCAA Division III rules, regulations, and philosophies. This includes team operations such as recruitment of qualified student athletes, student athlete development and retention, scheduling, budget management, and student athlete conduct. The head coach supports the entire Athletic Department by performing an ancillary duty as assigned by the Director of Athletics. This is a full-time, 12-month position with no scheduled office hours required between June 1 and August 15.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of physical and mental athlete development, practice planning, game planning, and teaching skills and strategies.
- Provide academic support and oversight of team student conduct.
- Recruit student-athletes in alignment with the mission of the team, Athletics Department, and Elmira College.
- Develop alumni relations and fundraising for the program.
- Represent the program and Elmira College at internal and external camps, clinics, recruiting events, and marketing opportunities.
- Manage team budget and travel.
- Plan practices and instruct sport-specific skills and strategies.
- Engage in team community service, public relations, and fundraising activities.
- Supervise employees and/or student workers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history per the College’s auto liability insurance carrier.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of coaching at the collegiate level or equivalent experience.
- Experience with college recruiting and admissions preferred.
- Understanding of NCAA and institutional compliance.
- Budget and travel management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and group communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
- Experience coaching at an NCAA Division III institution preferred.

Pay
$48,000 – $52,000 a year
Schedule
- Full-time, 12-month position.
