About the role

The Lead Head Start Teacher oversees all aspects of a classroom within a full-day full-year or school day-school year setting, ensuring a consistent and enriching experience for young learners throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Designs and delivers developmentally appropriate activities
• Sustains a clean, organized, and secure learning environment
• Supports children during both structured and unstructured play
• Engages with families through scheduled meetings and home-based interactions to support each child’s growth and individualized needs
• Provides direction and supervision to classroom support staff, including assistants and floaters, to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements

• Holds at least an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related field
• Comparable academic preparation in relevant coursework may also be considered
