About the role

The Lead Head Start Teacher is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a classroom within a full-day full-year or school day-school year setting, ensuring a consistent and enriching experience for young learners throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver developmentally appropriate activities
• Support children during both structured and unstructured play
• Maintain an organized, clean, and secure learning environment
• Engage with families through scheduled meetings and home-based interactions to support each child's growth and individualized needs
• Provide direction and supervision to classroom support staff, including assistants and floaters, to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

• At least an associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related field
• Comparable academic preparation in relevant coursework may also be considered

Compensation

Jefferson Co. $22.43 – $35.93 based on education and experience.
