About the role

You play a pivotal role within the corporate SE Strategic Procurement function and the SQD team. Your responsibilities include directing a group of specialists in commodities, materials, quality control, and manufacturing processes to support Strategic Procurement’s global Electrical Systems commodities for Siemens Energy’s expanding product portfolio. Together with your team of SQE’s, Commodity Engineers and Material Experts you collaborate with Strategic Commodity Managers to implement commodity strategies that secure capable, high-quality, and cost-effective supply chains for our operations. You also work closely with cross-functional teams to develop technology roadmaps that foster innovation in both design and supply chain management, oversee implementation from concept to technical capability assessment to sourcing decision, and provide technical guidance to Procurement colleagues to address supply chain challenges effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Direct a group of specialists in commodities, materials, quality control, and manufacturing processes to support Strategic Procurement’s global Electrical Systems commodities for Siemens Energy’s expanding product portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Commodity Managers to implement commodity strategies that secure capable, high-quality, and cost-effective supply chains for our operations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop technology roadmaps that foster innovation in both design and supply chain management.
  • Oversee implementation from concept to technical capability assessment to sourcing decision, and provide technical guidance to Procurement colleagues to address supply chain challenges effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing / Operations fields or similar, Masters / PhD preferred.
  • Extensive professional and leadership experience in PM, Engineering, Quality or Supply Chain Management in the power generation, electrification or other heavy industrials working in a project business (e.g. power plant erection & commissioning, oil & gas, energy infrastructure, etc.).
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Innovation mindset and challenger to legacy approach.
  • Executive mindset with ability to negotiate, convince others and operate in different cultures / challenging environments to achieve business objectives.
  • People oriented and performance minded approach.
  • Willingness / ability to travel.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience in PM, Engineering, Quality or Supply Chain Management in the power generation, electrification or other heavy industrials.
  • Experience in developing and implementing technology roadmaps.
  • Experience in leading supplier audits and capability assessments.
  • Experience in providing technical guidance to Procurement colleagues.
  • Experience in delivering efficient and effective resources and budget plans.

Skills

  • Thought leadership in Electrical Systems commodities and new ways of working through Agentics and Automation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of global supply chains for assigned corporate commodities, including regional location, technical capabilities and capacities, technology innovations and SWAT analysis.
  • Strong working partnerships with Electrical Systems Commodity Managers for meaningful technical contributions to the global commodity strategies.
  • Strong technical standards and material / manufacturing technologies to an implementation ready level and leading implementation with close collaboration with Engineering / R&D from the respective businesses.
  • Leading Supplier Audits and Capability Assessments for corporate managed global Systems suppliers and technical support needed to assess and qualify new suppliers (R4B) for corporate managed Components commodities.
  • Technical standards and material / manufacturing technologies to an implementation ready level and leading implementation with close collaboration with Engineering / R&D from the respective businesses.
  • Lead Supplier Audits and Capability Assessments for corporate managed global Systems suppliers and technical support needed to assess and qualify new suppliers (R4B) for corporate managed Components commodities.
  • Contribute to Supplier Development plans to ensure a fully capable supply chain.
  • Prevent and/or solve technical quality or performance challenges at our suppliers.
  • Deliver efficient and effective resources and budget plans.
