About the role
We are hiring a Head of Strategy & Business Operations to be a true extension of the founding team. You'd work directly alongside the founders, making the tougher operational and strategic calls with them, building the internal systems that increase founder leverage, and showing up client-facing when accounts need it.
Responsibilities
- Build and optimize internal systems and processes (CRM workflows, campaign operations, bug reporting pipelines)
- Own critical business operations: payroll, contracts, onboarding, legal/tax coordination, vendor management
- Lead recruiting and people operations end-to-end (candidate sourcing, screening, hiring process management)
- Work directly with clients (Cursor and other leading AI companies) on campaign performance and account health
- Create scalable playbooks and operational infrastructure that increase founder leverage
Requirements
- Must-Have:
- 3-7 years in investment banking, consulting, private equity, strategy, operations, chief of staff roles, or working directly with startup leadership
- High agency: figures things out without waiting for direction, thrives in ambiguity
- Strong track record of ownership and execution on substantive work (not just deck-making or process documentation)
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
- Client-facing confidence and professionalism. NYC 5 days in-person
- Nice-to-Have:
- Creator economy background (UGC platforms, influencer marketplaces, creator tools)
- Prior operating role at an early-stage startup (head of ops, chief of staff, founding ops)
- Top-tier MBB consulting or bulge-bracket IB foundation before pivoting to operating work
- Demonstrated track record in building scalable playbooks or operational infrastructure from zero
