About the Role

Alpha is opening a new campus in Springfield, MA, and is seeking a leader who already knows the city's educational landscape. You will guide a team of 15+ Guides who support and inspire students while our EdTech platform delivers all instruction. No traditional "teaching". High-impact execution. True leadership. Your objective: guarantee every student enjoys school, progresses at twice the pace of conventional classrooms, and develops essential life skills. This is not a standard Principal position. You will maintain rigorous standards, make evidence-based decisions, and establish Springfield's top-performing school from the start. Lead through data. Coach toward excellence.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Launch our Springfield, MA location: Execute Alpha's three core promises for 100+ students from the first day with operational precision across all functions.
  • Facilitate live workshops with K-8 students on life skills: Conduct dynamic one-hour sessions covering public speaking, growth mindset, and feedback exchange. Apply Alpha's proven framework to ensure students develop skills overlooked by traditional schools while staying fully engaged.
  • Drive every student toward 100% goal achievement: Create personalized motivational strategies for each individual. Apply data-informed methods to address disengagement and sustain student interaction with the Alpha platform. Success is defined by every student meeting their objectives.
  • Develop Guides to peak performance and uphold Alpha's excellence standard: Leverage data to pinpoint performance shortfalls, provide concrete feedback, and monitor progress. Execute difficult decisions when standards are not met and model exemplary behavior as your campus's benchmark.
  • Execute data-informed campus leadership: Evaluate outcomes across personnel, operations, parent engagement, and campus culture. Identify challenges, perform root cause investigations, engage relevant parties, and deploy measurable interventions. Monitor all decisions and refine strategies according to outcomes.

What You Won't Be Doing

  • Teaching or tutoring students. Students advance through Alpha's self-directed EdTech platform, not through traditional adult-led lectures.
  • Designing lesson plans or curriculum. Alpha's operational playbook is already developed. Your responsibility is implementation and team leadership, not content creation.
  • Managing budgets or hiring staff. Central operations manage financial and recruitment functions. You concentrate exclusively on campus outcomes and culture.
  • Being the subject-matter expert. This position is 80% leadership and engagement, 20% educational guidance. You motivate, the platform teaches.

Head Of School Key Responsibilities

  • Passion for transforming education. Belief that the traditional system is fundamentally broken.
  • Startup mindset: thrives under pressure, adaptable in new situations, comfortable building systems from scratch.
  • Compelling and energetic speaker who commands attention from rooms full of students or staff.
  • Able to relate to K-8 students, understand their interests and culture, and serve as a positive role model.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
