About the role
The Head of Public Protection will lead three teams focusing on statutory responsibilities including environmental health and licensing, private sector housing, community safety, public realm CCTV, emergency planning, and business continuity.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Council on a wide range of public protection matters.
- Deliver against strategic and operational requirements including service specific projects funded both internally and externally.
- Ensure full up-to-date communications on key national and local developments within environmental health and public protection areas.
- Deliver service improvements in line with the Authority’s Community Plan.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in resource management.
- Strong people management skills.
- Background and knowledge in Environmental Health and/or Public Protection at a senior level.
- Level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline or significant experience in a relevant area.
- Full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

Pay
Salary: Zone 4 £74,958 - £78,793 per annum
