About the role
We are seeking a dedicated People leader to own several sub-functions including people operations, HR, performance & compensation, recruiting, and culture as we scale. This role requires a player-coach approach, combining hands-on execution with strategic vision.
Responsibilities
- Pick and run HRIS, equity admin, broker, and immigration counsel.
- Own onboarding (30/60/90), offboarding, payroll, benefits, compliance, etc.
- Understand and own the vision for the company and be an active voice in pushing the company forward.
- Scale the People function for up to 10x employees.
- Manage performance and compensation processes, from comp bands to manager coaching.
- Nurture the culture and embody Sprint the Marathon, Happy Grinder, Product Fluency, and Win as a Team.
- Act as Head of Recruiting, maintaining the headcount plan and closing the gap between the plan and actuals.
Requirements
- Experience scaling People from 50 to 500 employees.
- Proven ability to handle performance and employee-relations calls, including PIPs, terminations, and layoffs.
- Strong understanding of HRIS, equity administration, and immigration counsel.
- Experience in onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- Strategic thinking and ability to build a high-bar, in-person culture in San Francisco.
- Ability to connect the People function to the broader organization's goals.
Qualifications
- Non-traditional background outside of HR to build an understanding of driving a company forward.
- Experience in recruiting and performance management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
