RemoteRemoteHuman ResourcesFull-time
About the role
We're hiring our first dedicated People leader to own the full employee journey and build the infrastructure that keeps a high-performing, remote-first team moving at speed. You'll report directly to the CEO and be a genuine thought partner at the leadership table – someone with a point of view who moves quickly from strategy to action.
Responsibilities
- Be an active voice at the leadership table; own the People roadmap and make sure the function is an enabler for the business, not an obstacle
- Own the full People Ops stack – HRIS, equity admin, payroll, benefits, compliance, immigration counsel, etc. – and evolve it to scale with the business, not just headcount
- Drive performance and comp end-to-end: the mechanics (bands, review cycles, PIPs) and the human side (development conversations, promotions, career growth)
- Build and lead a manager training program so our people leads are equipped to build strong teams and have the hard conversations
- Build the programs that make remote-first a competitive edge: connection, recognition, and a culture built around accountability and autonomy
- Own the hiring function: maintain the headcount plan and close the gap between plan and reality
- Leverage AI and automation as default levers; challenge existing processes and fix them before they break at scale
Requirements
- Senior People leadership experience in a high-performance startup environment
- A track record of owning and evolving strategic People functions across the full spectrum e.g. talent acquisition, performance, comp, benefits, culture
- Experience defining leadership standards and holding a high bar; you’ve embedded accountability into culture, not just managed development programs
- A trusted voice at the leadership table: a clear point of view, recommendations not just questions, and the ability to move people without mandate
- Practical experience applying AI to People workflows, org design, or workforce strategy
- Systems thinking and a builder's mentality; you see the whole before redesigning any part, and you're energized by creating what doesn't exist yet
- Strong data and modeling experience e.g. headcount, engagement, retention, comp
Qualifications
- Hands-on with modern tech stack: Rippling, Ashby, Leapsome, Slack, Notion, Google Workspace, Claude
- Experience working across international teams and building culture across borders
