About the role
Just Right Reader is a forward-thinking curriculum provider dedicated to advancing literacy for students from Birth through 12th Grade. Our comprehensive resources are designed to support all learners, including upper-grade students requiring additional intervention to develop foundational skills. Grounded in the Science of Reading, our high-quality materials and tools equip educators with the support they need to accelerate achievement and foster lifelong readers.
What You Will Do
- Build and lead a full-funnel marketing strategy that drives district and state awareness, qualified demand, pipeline creation, adoption, expansion, and renewal.
- Translate Just Right Reader's literacy impact, customer stories, research, and product value into compelling campaigns for district leaders, state decision-makers, educators, and families.
- Create integrated campaigns by state, segment, season, and funding moment.
- Partner closely with sales to align on campaign priorities, improve handoff from inbound to sales, and measure lead quality, conversion, pipeline contribution, and revenue impact.
- Develop customer marketing and renewal programs.
- Improve product and physical-experience marketing.
- Lead brand storytelling and thought leadership that positions Just Right Reader as a trusted literacy partner in the Science of Reading ecosystem.
- Bring data discipline to the function.
- Use AI-enabled marketing tools and modern search/digital practices to increase speed, personalization, testing, and campaign performance.
- Manage, coach, and prioritize the work of a small, capable marketing team across content, product marketing, video, design, and related functions.
- Build practical marketing operating rhythms: campaign calendars, launch plans, creative briefs, performance reviews, sales enablement workflows, and post-campaign retrospectives.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience marketing to K-12 school districts, state education agencies, or education decision-makers; edtech, curriculum, literacy, assessment, intervention, or Science of Reading experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of K-12 buying cycles, district decision-making, seasonal planning, conferences, procurement, funding timelines, and state-level education initiatives.
- Proven ability to build integrated marketing programs that generate qualified demand and support revenue growth.
- Strong customer marketing instincts, including onboarding, implementation support, lifecycle marketing, renewal, cross-sell, and expansion.
- Comfort with both strategy and execution; able to set the plan, make tradeoffs, and roll up sleeves when needed.
- Strong analytical orientation; able to define KPIs, interpret funnel and campaign data, assess lead quality, and make decisions based on performance.
- Experience using marketing automation, CRM data, digital campaigns, email, content, events, and modern AI-enabled marketing tools.
