Head of Finance, US
About the role
The Head of Finance will lead accounting, financial reporting, treasury, planning, and control functions for the U.S. business. They will help build and maintain a strong financial-control environment, support sound decision-making, and coordinate finance-related requirements with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
Responsibilities
- Lead core accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable, reconciliations, accruals, financial close, and maintenance of accurate accounting records.
- Develop, implement, and maintain finance policies, procedures, and internal controls appropriate to the business’s activities and risk profile.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, including management reporting and financial statement preparation.
- Maintain cash flow, working capital, liquidity, and operating expenses; identify and escalate material financial risks and variances.
- Manage treasury processes, banking relationships, payment controls, cash forecasting, and authorized investment activity.
- Coverage of controls relating to the handling, reconciliation, and safeguarding of customer-related assets or funds, where applicable.
- Coordinate finance inputs for filings, reports, examinations, and other requirements applicable to the business and its entities, in partnership with Compliance, Legal, and external advisors.
Requirements
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressively responsible finance, accounting, treasury, controllership, or financial-planning experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading accounting close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal-control processes.
- Strong understanding of cash management, liquidity planning, reconciliations, and financial risk management.
- Experience working in a financial-services, fintech, capital-markets, payments, or similarly complex operating environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly with senior management and influence decisions through sound financial analysis.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, CMA, CFA, CTP, or similar professional credential.
- Experience supporting businesses with financial-services compliance, capital planning, customer asset protection, or regulatory reporting obligations.
- Experience with brokerage, futures, payments, banking, digital assets, custody, or related financial technology products.
- Familiarity with U.S. financial-services regulatory frameworks and the finance implications of regulated or regulated-adjacent business activities.
- Experience building finance functions, controls, and reporting processes in a high-growth organization.
