Head of Engineering

TITLE

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, is seeking a Head of Engineering to join their team in Henrico, VA. This position reports to the Senior Director – Global Engineering.

About the role

The Head of Engineering will oversee multiple Design & Engineering teams involved in the design, validation, and implementation of innovative and cost-effective product solutions across various industries and product volumes. They will work closely with Engineering Leaders, Manufacturing Operations Management, Product Managers, and other Engineering and Operational functional leaders to achieve these goals.

Responsibilities

• Direct and control the activities of broad functional areas through several senior Design & Engineering managers.
• Partner with other leaders to establish objectives and action plans.
• Ensure the development of Design & Engineering solutions for diversified industry segments covering a wide range of products and volume mixes.
• Ensure budget, schedules, and performance indicators meet corporate guidelines.
• Provide technical and strategic guidance to subordinate directors to ensure achievement of goals and objectives.
• Develop and continuously improve people, methods, systems, processes, and metrics in a complex and rapidly changing environment to improve customer satisfaction.
• Organize and lead reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, within cost targets, and within quality specifications.
• Partner with Operations leaders to ensure Engineering & Design activities are well integrated with manufacturing operations, including the use of Design for Manufacturability principles.
• Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training plus a minimum of 8 years of management experience.
• A Master’s or MBA degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in Autodesk design tools and PDM and PLM.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical designs, specifically LV switchgear EC37.
