Head of Developer Community
About the role
Vercel is hiring a Head of Developer Community to evolve and scale our developer ecosystem strategy within the Marketing organization. You will report to the Head of Marketing Programs & Vercel Media and lead the team that is responsible for owning and expanding Vercel’s existing Developer-Facing programs, leading ecosystem partnerships, and defining our global conference and sponsorship strategy across the developer ecosystem.
This is a strategic, externally facing role focused on strengthening Vercel’s influence across the modern web ecosystem. You'll be in a player/coach role, leading a small team while operating directly to deepen relationships with open source maintainers and ecosystem leaders, ensure our sponsorships and conference presence are high-impact, and position Vercel at the center of key developer conversations.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in Developer Relations, Developer Marketing, OSS leadership, or ecosystem strategy; with 1+ year of team management experience
- Experience owning or scaling an existing open source or ecosystem program
- Strong relationships within the modern web or open source community
- Experience managing sponsorship investments and evaluating ROI
- Proven conference speaking experience at high-visibility developer events
- Ability to connect ecosystem initiatives to measurable marketing and business impact
- Deep technical fluency with modern web technologies (e.g., Next.js, frontend frameworks, cloud platforms)
- Willing and able to travel regularly for conferences and ecosystem engagements

Pay
The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $200,000 - $300,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role.
Schedule
The role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. If you're located beyond that distance, the role is fully remote. For location-specific details, please connect with our recruiting team.
