Key Responsibilities
- Design Leadership: Define and drive the overall design vision and strategy for the company, ensuring alignment with brand identity, user needs, and business objectives.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment while ensuring high-quality design work across all projects.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Partner with cross-functional teams including product management, development, and marketing to ensure that design efforts are aligned with project goals and timelines.
- Design Systems and Standards: Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and standards that ensure consistency and quality across all digital products.
- User Experience Focus: Ensure that all design outputs are grounded in user-centered design principles, conducting user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs.
- Hands-on Design Work: While leading the team, you'll also contribute to hands-on design tasks, including UI/UX design, wireframing, and prototyping for high-priority projects.
- Strategic Input: Provide strategic input to the leadership team, contributing to product direction, innovation, and the overall design process across the company.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a design leader, preferably as a Head of Design or similar role, with a portfolio demonstrating leadership in design, successful projects, and a strong track record in managing design teams.
- Technical Skills: Mastery of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools like InVision or Marvel. Experience in both UI/UX design and developing design systems.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams, coupled with excellent communication skills to articulate design vision and strategy to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into actionable design strategies that drive user satisfaction and business success.
- User-Centered Design: Deep understanding of user-centered design methodologies, with the ability to incorporate user research and usability testing into the design process.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative mindset for addressing design challenges and leading teams toward innovative solutions.
