Head of Customer Marketing

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven leader to shape our global customer marketing function. This role has significant influence on brand messaging, customer health, and retention, and involves managing customer advocacy and adoption programs. The ideal candidate will build deep customer relationships and create repeatable frameworks to enable high-quality, scalable customer advocacy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead our customer storytelling program, building a pipeline of customers eager to share how they solve business challenges and use LaunchDarkly in their AI SDLC.
  • Establish an executive advisory board to foster trust, feedback, and advocacy from decision-makers at key customers.
  • Source and interview customers to produce case studies (written, video, and quotes) and manage customers speaking at buyer and internal events.
  • Oversee peer review programs (G2, Peerspot, Gartner Peer Insights, TrustRadius) to maintain LaunchDarkly’s leader status.
  • Design and optimize advocacy programs and incentive strategies using data-driven insights and automation.
  • Collaborate with executives and customer-facing teams to source, engage, and nurture customer advocates.
  • Work with the lifecycle marketing team to manage customer onboarding and adoption nurture activities.
  • Build scalable feedback loops to capture customer insights and influence messaging, positioning, and GTM strategy.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience, including at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • 7+ years of customer advocacy experience, including managing a team of individual contributors.
  • Experience working directly with a developer or software engineering audience.
  • Proven ability to build scalable operational frameworks and lead complex, cross-functional programs.
  • Strong track record in building one-to-one relationships and facilitating executive-customer connections.
  • Experience with customer advocacy tools such as Champion and UserEvidence.
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset, with proficiency in CRM and customer lifecycle tools (e.g., Salesforce, Gainsight).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content for diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with global, remote teams and collaborating across functions.

Pay

Target pay ranges based on geographic zones for Level M3:

  • Zone 1: San Francisco/Bay Area, NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle – $171,000 – $235,000
  • Zone 2: Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago – $154,000 – $211,000
  • Zone 3: All other US locations – $145,000 – $200,000

All ranges include a 15% bonus target. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
