Head of Core C++ Low Latency Dev / CTO - Prop Trading - NYC

About the role

A proprietary trading firm with offices in Chicago, NYC, and Miami is actively looking to hire a tech/team lead for its core development team, with potential to grow into a CTO role. The firm specialises in algorithmic and high-frequency trading strategies across equities, options, and futures.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of developers focused on core C++ low-latency systems
• Guide architectural decisions and optimizations for trading infrastructure
• Collaborate with traders and quantitative researchers to implement and refine strategies
• Oversee performance tuning, latency reduction, and system reliability

Requirements

• Strong background in C++ development, particularly in low-latency environments
• Experience leading engineering teams in a trading or quantitative finance context
• Deep understanding of market microstructure, order execution, and trading systems
• Proven track record of building and scaling high-performance trading platforms

Compensation

$250K – $400K base salary plus bonus.
