About the role
The Head of Contracts and Corporate Transactions will be responsible for overseeing all contract management processes and corporate transactions within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee contract management processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Manage and negotiate corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance contract management efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of contracts and transactional activities.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in legal or corporate transactions, preferably in an emerging markets context.
- Proven track record in managing complex contracts and corporate transactions.
- Experience in regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Advanced degree in law or relevant field preferred.
Qualifications
- Admitted to practice law in South Africa or a recognized jurisdiction.
- Knowledge of local and international laws and regulations applicable to corporate transactions.
- Experience with legal software and systems for contract management.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
