About the role

The Head of Contracts and Corporate Transactions will be responsible for overseeing all contract management processes and corporate transactions within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contract management processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Manage and negotiate corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance contract management efficiency and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of contracts and transactional activities.
• Provide guidance and support to team members on contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in legal or corporate transactions, preferably in an emerging markets context.
• Proven track record in managing complex contracts and corporate transactions.
• Experience in regulatory compliance and risk management.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Advanced degree in law or relevant field preferred.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law in South Africa or a recognized jurisdiction.
• Knowledge of local and international laws and regulations applicable to corporate transactions.
• Experience with legal software and systems for contract management.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
