Head of Content
Position Summary
The Head of Content is responsible for managing both the day-to-day execution of content initiatives and the long-term transformation of the organization’s content capabilities. This role combines operational leadership with strategic planning to support growth as the business evolves from a single-line model to a multi-line platform.
Key Responsibilities
Content Execution & Delivery
Oversee end-to-end content production, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery across channels
Plan and execute a full-funnel content strategy, including:
Thought leadership
SEO/AEO content
Demand generation and product content
Sales and service enablement materials
Manage diverse formats such as blogs, web content, whitepapers, email campaigns, social media, presentations, webinars, and video assets
Lead internal content teams and external vendors to ensure consistent output
Establish workflows, priorities, and standards to maintain efficiency and quality
Serve as final quality reviewer for brand consistency, accuracy, and impact
Content Strategy & Capability Development
Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap for content growth across:
Strategy (audience segmentation, messaging, KPIs)
Organization (team structure and capacity planning)
Process (editorial workflows and governance)
Technology (tools and automation for scalability)
Transition content operations toward modular, reusable systems that support multiple audiences
Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve speed, quality, and scalability
Partner with business leadership to align messaging with customer and prospect insights
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with marketing, product, legal, compliance, analytics, and sales teams
Translate complex business requirements into clear content strategies
Communicate progress, trade-offs, and results to stakeholders and leadership
Advocate for investments in content tools, talent, and processes
Support knowledge sharing and content flow across internal teams
Performance Measurement & Optimization
Establish KPIs to measure content effectiveness across channels and business lines
Build dashboards and reporting cadences for performance tracking
Use analytics to improve content strategy, quality, and speed to market
Align content efforts with broader business and growth objectives
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in content strategy, editorial, or content operations leadership
Proven ability to manage teams and deliver high-volume, high-quality content
Experience scaling content in a growing or multi-product organization
Strong expertise in building systems, processes, and operational frameworks
Ability to lead through ambiguity, change, and organizational growth
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or related field (e.g., Journalism, Communications, English) preferred
Experience in financial services, B2B, or regulated industries
Familiarity with content management systems and marketing technology platforms
Experience with content performance analytics and attribution models
