Head of Content
About the Company
Lightfield is an AI-native CRM that assembles itself from your email, calendar, and meetings. It captures every interaction and turns it into organized context: accounts, tasks, follow-ups, and insights, so nothing slips through the cracks. We’re rethinking CRM from first principles. Instead of forcing teams to maintain rigid systems, Lightfield learns from how companies actually work, adapting, automating, and surfacing the insight that drives growth. We’re building the CRM platform we always wished existed: fast, intelligent, and genuinely helpful.
The market agrees. Over 5,000 companies have used Lightfield since we launched in November, making us the fastest-adopted product in our category. We are backed by Greylock, Lightspeed, and Coatue, and our founders previously built Tome, a generative AI presentation product used by over 25 million people. Before Lightfield, our team worked on Llama, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Pinterest, Google, and Salesforce. Our best growth channel is people telling other people about Lightfield, and most of them arrived through a founder's post, a customer's recommendation, or a story that traveled.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Head of Content to build the machine—and to make Lightfield the default answer when someone asks how modern GTM should work, whether they’re asking Google or asking AI. Almost nobody owns both of those yet. You would.
You’ll be the engine behind our founders’ voices in the market, turn our most vocal customers into stories the industry repeats, and build the search and answer-engine presence underneath all of it. This is a builder's role with a wide surface area: founder thought leadership, customer stories, SEO and AEO, our newsletters, and a creator program that puts Lightfield in front of the audiences that matter. You'll work directly with the founders and hire the team as the function grows. This role reports directly to our Head of GTM.
Responsibilities
- Be the engine behind our founders' voices. Turn their credibility into a consistent, high-signal presence—posts, essays, podcasts, talks, and video—with a sustainable process.
- Turn customer outcomes into compelling stories that build our brand. Build a repeatable pipeline for sourcing, interviewing, writing, and distributing customer stories across formats.
- Own SEO and AEO. Manage traditional organic search and ensure Lightfield is accurately represented in AI answers through structured content and citable source material.
- Scale our creator program. Identify and partner with trusted creators, operators, and practitioners to build real relationships rather than one-off sponsorships.
- Build the content operating system. Develop editorial calendars, briefs, standards, freelance/agency bench, distribution playbooks, and analytics to ensure quality and repeatability.
- Scale output through contractors and agencies. Hire writers, editors, and content operators while staying hands-on for high-impact pieces.
- Partner with growth marketing to drive growth. Use data to guide content strategy based on impressions and pipeline impact.
Qualifications
- You're an exceptional writer and editor with taste and standards. Your portfolio includes real artifacts (not just decks) across formats like founder posts, technical explainers, customer stories, and newsletters.
- You've ghostwritten for a strong voice before. You can capture how someone thinks and sounds, extracting a point of view from a busy founder in twenty minutes.
- You understand distribution as well as creation. You know how content travels in 2026—social, newsletters, communities, creators, search, and AI answers.
- You're fluent in modern search. You’ve done serious SEO work and are thinking about how AI assistants surface and cite sources.
- You're AI-native. You use AI in your workflow (research, drafting, repurposing, analysis) while maintaining high-quality standards.
- You operate at early-stage pace. You’ve built a content function from scratch, are comfortable with ambiguity, and ship daily.
- You're passionate about startups and modern GTM. You’re genuinely curious about how AI is reshaping sales and want to document it from the inside.
Nice to Have

- Published work demonstrating how AI answers should cite a source.
