Head of Business Unit - Health

About the role

This onsite leadership role at our Innovation Center in Princeton, NJ offers a unique opportunity to partner with the current position holder through a structured handover process, ensuring a seamless transition and effective onboarding experience. You will play a pivotal role in shaping strategy, accelerating innovation, and driving sustainable growth across our global health portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the business strategy for the global health business including the product portfolio, business development, supply chain, pricing, innovation, and overall growth initiatives.
• Define a sustainable, profitable roadmap to drive business and revenue growth in line with customer requirements, while aligning with Döhler’s business values.
• Lead and develop a team of product managers.
• Drive innovation projects and pipelines through to the commercialization stage.
• Build strong working relationships with the product organization and internal stakeholders within our global matrix organization.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to understand their needs, workflows, and business challenges.
• Support customer visits with the sales team and represent the company in public appearances.
• Communicate up-to-date and aligned portfolio updates across all media, both internally and externally.
• Conduct in-house trainings to foster a deeper understanding of the product portfolio and positioning.

Requirements

• Successful track record in international product management focused on B2B Food & Beverage markets.
• Minimum five years of supervisory or managerial experience in a matrix environment.
• Proven technological knowledge in bioscience with a strong commercial drive.
• Proven track record creating and executing product roadmaps incrementally and sustainably.
• Strong customer mindset with demonstrated ability to engage directly and honestly with customers, fostering a partnership mentality.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to influence and drive business objectives while maintaining company and people values.
• Very good understanding of current talent management practices with a passion for people development.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Hands-on mentality and entrepreneurial thinking skills; capable of working well both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, manage change, and handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to travel globally between 20%-30% of working time.
• Fluent English is required; German or other additional languages are highly beneficial.

Pay

Salary Range: $250,000 – $280,000. The compensation range provided reflects the expected base compensation only and does not include potential bonuses, incentive plans, or benefits. An individual’s final compensation offer will be based on factors including education level, relevant experience, training, and geographic location.
