About the role
We are looking for a dynamic Business Unit Leader to help drive our next phase of growth. This leadership opportunity is ideal for an ambitious operations and sales professional who thrives on building winning teams, driving results, and creating a culture of continuous improvement. You will report to the Region Vice President and lead the sales and operations teams within your assigned branch location(s), focusing on profitable growth, operational performance, and developing a high-performing culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire teams to achieve sustainable growth, operational excellence, and outstanding customer service.
- Develop and execute growth strategies that support national accounts, customer verticals, acquisitions, and new business opportunities.
- Build and manage a documented opportunity pipeline to support revenue and profitability objectives.
- Partner with key suppliers to strengthen supply chain performance, optimize inventory, and support customer-focused initiatives.
- Analyze market trends and competitive intelligence to maximize growth opportunities.
- Manage operational costs while improving productivity and workforce effectiveness.
- Drive cash flow improvements through working capital optimization.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and create value for customers.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top talent while supporting succession planning efforts.
- Foster employee engagement through communication, recognition, collaboration, and accountability.
- Create a culture centered on learning, skill development, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate teams and drive business performance.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated coaching and mentoring capabilities with a results-oriented leadership style.
- Experience with Operational Excellence, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong financial and operational acumen with a track record of achieving business objectives.
- Ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Industry knowledge or the ability to quickly learn the business and contribute immediately.
