About the role
The University of Wisconsin–Green Bay seeks a dynamic and mission-driven Head Nordic Ski Coach to lead a highly competitive men’s and women’s Nordic ski program.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the ski budget
- Plan and supervise in-season and out-of-season practice sessions, team and individual practices
- Comply with all NCAA, UW System and UW-Green Bay rules and regulations
- Monitor the academic performance of student-athletes to assure they meet performance standards of University and NCAA
- Recruit and retain student-athletes through observation of ability and talent in accordance with the rules and regulations of the NCAA and UW-Green Bay
- Fundraise and participate in promotional and special events to promote the program and UWGB
- Oversee conduct and performance of Nordic ski graduate assistant and support
- Provide technical expertise and utilize sound coaching methods aimed to improving the athletic performance of student-athletes
- Build alumni connections and engagement to generate financial support and interest
- Generate and promote positive public relations and dynamic support for the Department of Athletics
Requirements
- Display professional sportsmanlike conduct during athletic events.
- Excellent judgment including sensitivity to personal and confidential information.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills working with a diverse community.
- Working knowledge of NCAA and Horizon League rules and regulations.

Schedule
This position requires a varying schedule. Nights and weekends will be required in order to meet the needs of the department. Travel with assigned sport programs will be required. The home campus of this position is Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to travel to or work at the Marinette, Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus, based on operational needs.
Pay
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
