Head Men's Basketball-Coach/Part-Time Kinesiology Instructor

Athletics

Lead all aspects of the NJCAA men's basketball program, including planning practices, coaching competitions, and developing student-athletes.

• Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes while maintaining all required recruiting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with NJCAA, conference, and college policies and eligibility requirements.
• Supervise assistant coaches, student managers, and other team personnel.
• Cook up game schedules with the Director of Athletics.
• Manage the team's budget, equipment, uniforms, and fundraising activities.
• Work closely with academic advisors and campus partners to support student success.
• Represent Madison College and the Athletics Department in the community and at conference, regional, and national meetings.

Instruction

Teach a minimum of 7 contact hours per semester in the Kinesiology program.

• Depending on the timing of hire, teaching responsibilities may begin in Spring 2027.
• Courses may include Performance Strength & Nutrition, First Aid & CPR, Health & Fitness for Life, and activity-based courses.
• Advise students, particularly those planning to transfer into Kinesiology or Physical Education programs.
• Develop engaging learning experiences using a variety of instructional methods, including face-to-face and online instruction.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: Master's degree in Kinesiology or Master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate credits in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Physical Education.
• Experience: Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of recent experience related to coaching and/or teaching responsibilities.
• Experience: Recruiting and developing student-athletes.
• Experience: Three to five years of experience in an intercollegiate athletics setting is preferred.
