Athletics
Lead all aspects of the NJCAA men's basketball program, including planning practices, coaching competitions, and developing student-athletes.
- Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes while maintaining all required recruiting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with NJCAA, conference, and college policies and eligibility requirements.
- Supervise assistant coaches, student managers, and other team personnel.
- Cook up game schedules with the Director of Athletics.
- Manage the team's budget, equipment, uniforms, and fundraising activities.
- Work closely with academic advisors and campus partners to support student success.
- Represent Madison College and the Athletics Department in the community and at conference, regional, and national meetings.
Instruction
Teach a minimum of 7 contact hours per semester in the Kinesiology program.
- Depending on the timing of hire, teaching responsibilities may begin in Spring 2027.
- Courses may include Performance Strength & Nutrition, First Aid & CPR, Health & Fitness for Life, and activity-based courses.
- Advise students, particularly those planning to transfer into Kinesiology or Physical Education programs.
- Develop engaging learning experiences using a variety of instructional methods, including face-to-face and online instruction.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in Kinesiology or Master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate credits in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Physical Education.
- Experience: Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of recent experience related to coaching and/or teaching responsibilities.
- Experience: Recruiting and developing student-athletes.
- Experience: Three to five years of experience in an intercollegiate athletics setting is preferred.
