Head: Innovation Acceleration and Growth
About the role
The incumbent will ensure the successful transformation of innovative research outputs generated by researchers, students, and staff of UNAM into prototypes, products, and processes for commercialization. They will collaborate with researchers and students from research project development through prototype and incubation stages, leading to commercialization. Additionally, the role involves assisting the Director in providing high-level administrative and operational support for the effective and efficient management of business functions in the Center for Innovation and Development. The incumbent will also assist with resource mobilization to solicit funds for incubation and product/prototype development. Other tasks may be assigned as required.
Responsibilities
- Transform innovative research outputs into prototypes, products, and processes for commercialization.
- Work with researchers and students from project development to prototype and incubation stages.
- Assist the Director in high-level administrative and operational support for the Center for Innovation and Development.
- Mobilize resources to solicit funds for incubation and product/prototype development.
- Perform other assigned tasks as required.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or equivalent qualification.
- Track record of working in an innovation and acceleration environment, including community engagement.
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience in business acceleration, entrepreneurship mentorship and coaching, and incubation leading to product and service development.
- Sound understanding of innovation value.
Qualifications
- A PhD will be an added advantage.
