About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Head of Human Asset Management (HAM) and Administration who will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the HAM and Administration functions of the plant. The role ensures effective implementation of HR and administrative policies, workforce planning, employee relations, talent acquisition, talent management, succession planning, compensation and benefits, learning and development, shared services, fleet, protocol, estate, housekeeping, and general administrative support in line with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the HAM and Admin department to support plant operations and business objectives.
  • Oversee the implementation of Human Asset Management policies, procedures, and programmes across the plant.
  • Coordinate manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, performance management, learning and development, and employee engagement activities.
  • Ensure effective administration of compensation, benefits, staff welfare, employee relations, disciplinary processes, and grievance management.
  • Oversee administrative services including fleet management, protocol, estate management, housekeeping, office services, shared services, and general plant administration.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, IMS standards, safety guidelines, and other applicable regulations.
  • Partner with Plant Management, Group HAM, departmental heads, and other stakeholders to drive people strategy, employee productivity, engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and present HR and Admin reports, budgets, manpower analytics, departmental updates, and management information for decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within HAM and Admin processes to enhance service delivery and employee experience.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Plant Director or Head of HR, Nigeria Plants.

Requirements

  • First degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Employee Relations, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree or relevant professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in Human Resources and Administration, preferably within industrial, manufacturing, or cement-related field, with at least five (5) years in a senior management role.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Human Asset Management, administration, employee relations, labour laws, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievance issues, and industrial harmony effectively.
  • Proficiency in HR information systems, Microsoft Office tools, reporting, analytics, and records management.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and commitment to service excellence.
